Pre-Schooler

Today was the big day, K's first day of pre-school. She was so excited getting ready this morning. She was really eager to start school and has been for a long time. She hopped right out of the car with a great, big smile on her face and said, "Ok Mom. I'll see ya later. Bye." Then she was out and that was it. Driving home with only one child in the car, one that doesn't talk much, I was struck by how quiet it was in the car. It was very strange to me. Only it didn't feel good like I thought it would. My heart literally ached with the silence. But after a few short hours the car lines started all over again, and the noise, fights, and giggles filled my car once again and that's when everything seemed "normal" again.
